The article examines changes in the Russian forest industry under the influence of sensitive markets, where both the ratio of quality and price of goods, and the degree of impact on nature and the local community are important. The problems of forest certification are analyzed, the essence of which is to minimize the impact on nature and the local community when conducting forest management activities. The research focuses on the implementation of new forest business rules in Russian forest settlements.
