Annotation

The article is devoted to the craft and trade regulations, an important type of sources for the social and economic history of the Middle Ages and the Modern Times. Based on the regulations of the famous “Book of Crafts” of Paris, the author reconstructs the world picture of medieval artisans and traders, studying the terms that defined the houses, workshops and parts of these buildings, streets, roads and squares of Paris in the 13th century, analyzing the nature of their references in the statutes and the functions of these spaces and objects, in different situations determined by the professional activities of artisans, including the possibility or necessity of transferring functions and transition between the workshop space and the urban space.
