In the 19th century in the Russian Theological academies an original philosophical tradition was evolved. Having based on the patristic heritage these thinkers attempted to incorporate philosophical ideas to the Christian doctrine. There were other attempts to reconcile the reason and the faith which were made by such thinkers as Vladimir Solovyov, Nikolai Grot, Leo Lopatin, Sergei Trubetskoy and Evgeny Trubetskoy, whose philosophical ideas initiated profound metaphysical quests in the domestic philosophy.
