The article deals with the process of creation of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Documents (RGADA or RSAAD) Internet-site and its filling. Author tries to reveal its purposes, describing projects, already realized or being in progress. Special attention paid to using of Geo-Information Systems (GIS). Also on the base of site statistics author makes an attempt to show peculiarities of everyday life of Russian historian. Despite the growing traffic to RGADA site, it must be admitted that the study of Russian history now is not very common. Scrapping this trend should contribute to an increase of on-line information and empowerment of its use.
