This theme deals with the history of Russian lands in 14—15th centuries. The process of the liquidation of the political fragmentation and the expansion policy of Grand Duchy of Moscovy is its main topic. The author analyses not only history of Moscow principality but also that of Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Novgorod and Tver’ principality and pays attention to the impact of the Golden Horde on political development of Russian lands. The question of possible alternatives to the ‘Moscow’ way to unification is raised as well.
