American public views about the USSR during the Great Patriotic War
Annotation
The article dwells on the US public opinion towards USSR during the WWII. The author shows its evolution from keen endorsement to obvious alienations. Author’s conclusion is the following. Americans feared the new “Great depression” and fall of living standard that grew during the Second World War. This was the reason of their tolerance to the beginning of cold war with their former ally.
