"Symphonic philosophizing "(biographical realities of correspondence between S. L. Frank and L. Binswanger)
Annotation
The article analyzes the biographical realities presented in the correspondence between the Russian philosopher S. L. Frank and the Swiss psychiatrist L. Binswanger. It is one of the most striking examples of the philosophical dialogue between Russia and Western Europe, which lasted for almost 16 years from November 1934 to December 1950. Correspondents have an open, intimate conversation on various topics: high understanding of true male friendship, research interests in psychology, philosophy, religion, psychoanalysis, medicine, traveling, conferences, reports, meetings of philosophers, common acquaintances, reading circle-Russian literature and modern European authors, European history, everyday life, current care of children and spouses, illnesses, reports of the death of loved ones. The correspondence between Frank and Binswanger is confessional in nature and helps not only clarify certain facts of the Russian philosopher's life in exile, but also provides new, valuable materials for understanding his inner, spiritual and philosophical evolution, and the creative history of published and unpublished works. The correspondence in question, which is currently being archived at the University of tübingen, is being prepared for publication in both the Russian translation and the original language (German, French, English), along with the transcript.
