The article contains the study of dynamics, structure and prospects of agricultural production in South Africa since the end of apartheid. Despite the emerging of small-scale farmers, the land reform has not so far had a significant impact on the change in the social structure of the agricultural sector.Some conclusions are made regarding the effect of market liberalization on the structure of the capital assets and geographical shifts in agricultural production. Changes in crop production and exports are analyzed.
