Annotation
Prominent soil scientist Krupennikov recently celebrated his 100 th birthday. For most of his life he worked in Moldova and studied the country’s black soils. His research explained the causes and mechanisms of the degradation of different black soils in Russia and neighbouring countries. Krupennikov is also a historian of science who has published monographs on the history of the concepts of soil science and its famous representatives.
