European vector of foreign policy of the new German government
Annotation
Europe was and remains the main direction of Germany's foreign policy. The new coalition government continues to focus on the European vector. At its center is the European Union and the Eurozone, in which the FRG retains the informal role of political and economic leader. A special place is occupied by the Franco-German axis and German-Polish relations. The main task is to increase the economic competitiveness of the EU space in the context of Brexit and to strengthen its military and political security. Outside the European Union, Western Balkan, Russian, Ukrainian and Turkish directions are priority. The article analyzes the peculiarities of the European component of the foreign policy of new government and its influence on the future of Greater Europe. Particular attention is paid to the prospects of German-Russian relations.
