The article provides an overview of the Integrated Maritime Policy of the European Union. It examines the main economic aspects and development trends on the modern stage. Author undertakes the analysis of key planning and policy documents of the European Union governing the Integrated Maritime Policy. The process of developing, documenting and further implementation of the Integrated Maritime Policy represents a unique experience in management and coordination of major sectors of maritime activities. The article is an actual study and generalization of this experience. It offers scientific evaluation in the context of development of the maritime policy of the Russian Federation, including the possible use of domestic models of inter-sectoral management of maritime activities and development of the economy of coastal regions.
