World energy is living through a time of radical transformation called energy transition. This process also involves eastern nations. Unlike the postindustrial West, the East is going through intensive industrialization and developing its energy transition not only by boosting renewable energy but rather by modernizing the existing energy infrastructure. Digitalization is becoming the main trend in energy transition there; it meets the demand of decarbonization as well as greatly increases energy efficiency and hence compatibility of national economies.
