Annotation

Global changes taking place in the world every day, as well as the historical, cultural and social foundation of interstate relations are significant factors that determine the degree and depth of mutual benefit that two subjects of international trade can derive for themselves.

In this scientific article, in order to establish the most important directions for the development of economic contacts of the "Land of the Rising Sun", the foreign trade relations of Japan with France and other countries have been analyzed.

The research methodology is network analysis, in view of its significant scientific relevance, as well as the possibilities for a thorough study of the interrelationships of various subjects through network modeling, with the determination of the centrality of each of such subjects and consideration of their influence on each other.

The result of the study was the determination of the fact that over a 15-year period, Japan was able to maintain its status as one of the leading players in world trade, while the countries of the Asian region became its key partners to a greater extent.
