Coupling the Eurasian Economic Union with the subregional integration of the Central Asian republics
Annotation

The coronavirus crisis has clearly demonstrated to the world the importance of mutual support and sustainable interstate and interregional ties. The republics of Central Asia have a long common history, and, according to Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov, the prospects for integration in the region are relevant and broad. At the same time, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are already part of the EAEU, and Uzbekistan is preparing to become an observer in this union. The article discusses the issues of how the Central Asian and Eurasian integration directions are related, as well as what challenges stand in the way of uniting the countries of the region.
