The aim of the article is to explore the features of Old Russian philosophic thought. The main characteristic of philosophic knowledge of Kievan Rus in the period before the Tatar-Mongol invasion is given. According to the author, it was during this period that the sound foundation for traditions of domestic philosophizing was laid down. These traditions include historiosophy, interest in the inner world of man, aesthetization and ethization of being.
