Annotation
The “The Forbidden Songs” by Leonard Buchkovski is the first post-war feature film shot in Poland. It was made soon after the end of WWII that is why the film contains an interesting and representative content about the time of the Nazi occupation. However, this film was created during unique time (or even timelessness): the war had ended, but the dictatorial Stalin’s-style political system in Poland had not been established yet. The main characters of the film are soldiers of the Home Army and The Warsaw Uprising is shown on the screen quite openly. “The Forbidden Songs” is a unique work not only because it was the first
