Annotation
This theme is devoted to the history of the Patriotic War of 1812 and the analysis of its place in political and cultural history of Russia in the 19th century; the work also identifies a polemic character of different themes and subjects, connected with the epoch of Napoleon’s invasion into Russia and the scientific actuality of the interpretations of the role of Russia in the world’s history of Napoleonic wars. It stresses that the background of Russia’s victory was not only the superiority of resources, but mainly the strategic talent of its leader including Alexander I.
