Annotation
The article devoted to the Restoration of the Stuarts Monarchy as a transitional period in the history of the Britain. Restoration of the monarchy in Britain in the spring of 1660 initiated the beginning of the new era. Crown, though having received the basic privileges from parliament that were lost during the Revolution, was forced to become dependent financially. The situation in the composite kingdom demanded of the sovereign to reasonably compromise for the sake of preserving the balance of powers in the British Isles. During the restoration many changes concerning state institutions were made: creation and development of the royal standing army, strengthening the royal navy, modernization of the fiscal system. During the reign of Charles II the cabinet system of government arose.
