The article analyzes common myths about the effects of international economic integration. A number of theses are subjected to critical analysis. In particular, we are talking about the predominantly positive impact of regional integration on the economy; the direct dependence of positive integration effects on the degree of complementarity of the economies of the participating countries; and the growth of the positive impact of the integration process on the economy as the level of integration deepens; on the emergence of positive effects of integration mainly when countries with a high level of economic development are United; on the greater positive effects of integration of developing countries with developed countries than with countries with a comparable level of development. Based on the analysis, the conclusion is made about the insufficient validity of the considered representations.
