The results of empirical research of interrelation of attachment type and intensity of posttraumatic symptoms are presented The hypothesis was advanced that degree of safe types of attachment to significant relatives has negative correlation with posttraumatic psychopathology while domination of unsafe types has positive correlation with posttraumatic symptoms. For subjects examination (Ss - patients of surgical department) there were used the battery of methods to diagnose the symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personal questionnaires MMPI and 16PF and “Adult attachment interview”. The data obtained argue m favour of authors model of posttraumatic symptoms development presented in previous publications.
