Немытая Россия (about a Possible Source of the Lermontov’s Formula)
Annotation

The author proposes a hypothesis about the origins of the expressionнемытая Россия (literally “unwashed Russia”) in the famous poem by Mikhail Lermontov (1841). The contextual semantics of an adjective turns out to be more complex than it is accepted to think.
